Academic Writing in English
This workshop guides you through the crucial aspects of writing in English for academic purposes, combining process-related aspects (writing techniques and tools) as well as text quality-related aspects (clear and succinct style, structure, perspective/positioning, argumentation). The workshop is intended for work in progress; active participation and integration of your own drafts is highly encouraged.

Mini-Bio:
Markus Rheindorf holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics and recently completed his Habilitation at Vienna University. He has been a research fellow at the International Centre for Cultural Studies and the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis as well as the Institute for Human Sciences. His research interests focus on academic writing, genre, discourse, national identity and the nexus of nationalism and populism. Markus currently teaches at Vienna University, Central European University and the University of Art and Design Linz, amongst others. As part of his academic writing consultancy, he designs and holds writing workshops, seminars and retreats as well as proofreading and translation services.
